The star, who became a dad to Freddie in January 2016, took to Twitter to moan the charts have lost any semblance of edge.
Speaking frankly, Liam Payne’s former bandmate wrote: “Sorry but where’s all the attitude gone in music?
“About time we had some more trouble causers in the industry.”

Louis later added: “Go look up some old interviews of Oasis…that’s what I’m talking about.
“Oasis are sick and we need more bands that don’t give a f*** like them in their prime.”
Speaking about his own music, the star previously told 4Music’s Trending Live: “It’s for me important across my lyrics to be very matter of fact, very honest, vulnerable cause actually I don’t think there’s enough of that in pop.
“Everybody writes about these fairytale scenarios when in reality I think life’s pretty interesting.”
Revealing lyrics from his new album, Louis tweeted: “So here’s a random one.
“Where’s all the attitude gone in music?”
“If I had it my way/pub lunch every Sunday/cheap beer and it’s okay.”
However, he stopped short at announcing the song title.
When one fan begged him for more info, Louis simply replied: “Don’t be greedy.”
Since leaving One Direction, Louis has dropped two new singles.
The first, Just Hold On, was debuted at The X Factor final last December, while the second Back To You with Bebe Rexha is currently riding high in the charts.
Meanwhile, Louis’ bandmates are also working hard on their solo careers.
Chatting to Daily Star Online, Liam Payne revealed he is determined to duet with Nicki Minaj.
Gushing over the rapper, the 24-year-old said: “There’s talk of it happening.
“I don’t really know what’s going on with it at the moment.
“I have a song that I think she could really smash.
“I think it would be really really great – it was one of the first songs I wrote for the album actually.
“There is a little spot for her if she wants it.”
He added: “I have to let the powers that be decide but we have already got some really great collaborations on the go.
“There is a couple of other different ones which I can’t tell you about yet.
Niall Horan is also set to drop his debut solo album.
Speaking at his recent London gig, the Irish lad said: “The album will be out in October.
“I have been working on it since March 2016.
“It has been a year and a half in the making and it is finally time for people to hear it.
“All the long hours in the studio make it worthwhile when you get to do live shows.”
