Linda Carter and Mick’s marriage has been on the rocks ever since he confessed to having an affair with his daughter-in-law Whitney.
And now to throw another spanner in the works, viewers think that Jack Branning is posing as a possible suitor for Linda as she grows more and more desperate for a shoulder to lean on.
Earlier this week, the troubled mum opened up to Jack and revealed she’d been battling cancer alone which prevented her from returning to Walford.
And in last night’s episode, hero Jack rescued Linda and her son Johnny – who’d been shot by Ted Murray in the aftermath of the gas explosion – after their ambulance collided with a lorry.
When the air ambulance crew finally arrived to the crash site, Linda thanked Jack for his help: “You were brilliant.”
“Right place at the right time,” Jack replied.
Linda continued: “You saved Johnny’s life. Ronnie would be proud of you. Thank you.”
“Before you walk away, you’ve got to at least give Mick a chance”
Before they could continue, Linda’s hubby Mick turned up at the scene, causing the pair’s conversation to take another turn.
Jack advised: “He’s a good bloke. Think of the stuff you’ve been through.
“Before you walk away, you’ve got to at least give him a chance. Just tell him the truth.”
Fans of the BBC soap are convinced that bosses are gearing up a big old Christmas affair storyline.
One person tweeted: “Can we be any more obvious with this Jack and Linda stuff?”
“Jack and Linda are giving off some chemistry. If Mick and Linda don’t make it, I’ll be shipping Lack? Jinda?” added another.
A third wrote: “Jack and Linda fling…Christmas…I’m going BetFred to place a tenner on it.”
Have we sniffed out an upcoming plot?
