Troubled Gary – just back from his latest dangerous stint working in Ukraine – is feeling torn following another argument with his girlfriend Sarah Platt.
Worried Sarah wants him to stop accepting such risky security work, but when Izzy Armstrong reveals that their son Jake needs expensive speech therapy he feels he has no choice but to help her.
He accepts another contract and is desperate to make the most of the time they have together, but Sarah refuses to join him on a night out.
“Gary is really struggling”
Gary then heads into town alone to drown his sorrows and bumps into brunette Nicola.
The couple hit it off immediately and Gary opens up to her about his problems.
Sadly, the doting dad has no idea that Nicola is twisted Phelan’s long-lost daughter.
As viewers know, the men have been enemies ever since the evil builder paid Gary’s mum Anna to sleep with him.
A Corrie insider said: “Gary is really struggling. He’s earning decent money abroad but it’s not ideal and Sarah is constantly worrying something will happen to him. He arrives home with lavish presents but Sarah isn’t at all impressed.
“Things between them are strained and Gary ends up drowning his sorrows at a bar in town where he ends up meeting Nicola.
“She listens to his problems and as they talk one thing leads to another. If only Gary knew who her dad was. It’s going to be very interesting to see how it all plays out.”
Make sure you don’t miss all the chemistry between Gary and Nicola on ITV this Wednesday.
